Trip Description
An immersive cultural and ecological experience in the heart of Xochimilco, designed by Trama Xochimilco.
It connects visitors with the natural landscape, local traditions, and community life through a responsible and meaningful journey.
Enjoy a 2-hour trajinera ride through the protected canal conservation zone with a local family that preserves traditional planting methods.
Explore one of the last remaining pre-Hispanic agricultural systems: the chinampas.
Observe local flora and fauna while you learn about the importance of Xochimilco as a World Heritage site, its culture, traditions, and legends with the guidance of a local guide.
efore we end our journey, we will visit an Axolotl sanctuary. Axolotls are Xochimilco’s endemic salamanders, listed as a endanger species and used extensively in scientific research due to their ability to regenerate limbs, gills and brain.
In the final part of this experience, we will visit a traditional pulquería to taste the drink of the Gods, take a walk through the historic center of Xochimilco, and explore the main Cathedral; ending at the Women’s Collective Restaurant-Cafeteria Dalia Cultural Market.
